Bone Densitometry
The Geelong Bone Density Department has been providing services to the Barwon region since 1991. Operating five days a week, the department scans over 6000 patients per year along with participants of osteoporosis related pharmaceutical trials and volunteers participating in research projects.
The department houses three bone densitometry scanners in the Douglas Hocking Research Institute that are operated by specialised, accredited technologists.
Onsite endocrinologists, along with a comprehensive patient report, ensures the department is the leading bone density service within the Barwon region.
Referrals
A general practitioner (GP) referral is required for bone density testing and bookings can be made through our reception (03) 4215 1130.
