Your GP (local doctor) is often a good place to start
Why do I need a GP?
Based on your needs they can help with
- Treatment including medications
- Referral to the right help/services
- Assessment and planning
Worried about the cost?
GPs do assessments for a mental health care plan. Mental health care plans provide a medicare rebate for approved mental health services. (E.g. psychologist, social worker at a reduced rate. Gap payments often apply, so check with the service provider)
The best way to feel better is through:
- Seeking medical help from a GP
- Social supports (family, friends and community)
- Mental health experts
