Young carers

A young carer is someone under the age of 25 and supporting a person with mental health and/or alcohol and other drugs challenges.

The pressures of caring can impact on our own needs. When it comes to doing things like school, work, and spending time with friends or enjoying interests and hobbies, it is important for our own emotional health and wellbeing that we look after ourselves.

There is help available - see the related links on this page for further help.

Support may include practical things like taking some time out, financial support or speaking to someone who can guide you.
