QPS success in seed funding for Induction of Labour study
An exciting evaluation project has been funded by the Centre for Quality and Patient Safety within the Institute for Health Transformation (Deakin University).
In 2024, Dr Susan Perlen, pictured, from the Centre for Quality and Patient Safety Research – Barwon Health Partnership, will lead this research to evaluate the impact of the 2022 induction of labour decision making intervention at Barwon Health on outcomes for women and their babies, and to understand clinicians’ views of clinical decision-making and the acceptability, feasibility, and usability of the guidelines, tools and processes.
The project will build clinical and organisational capacity in the evaluation of induction of labour decision making processes, practice and support, allow benchmarking with Western Health, and have a high potential for replication in other regional maternity facilities.
